Dillo example

Guestbook

A little place to say hello.

What this demonstrates

A shared wall for the neighborhood. Everyone can read it. Sign in to add your voice. You can edit or remove your own notes anytime — but only yours. Simple permissions: public read, authenticated write, own-your-words editing.

How it works

The permissions are the app. This is the whole data model — schema.ts, the first of the app's three files (its import line, not shown, brings these names in from "create-dillo/schema"):

schema.ts
// The schema the live backend serves today (span2/live-schemas filing, re-verified at deploy).
export default schema({
  Message: table({
    name: string().max(60).optional(),
    text: string().min(1).max(500),
  }).permissions({ view: anyone, edit: owner }),
});

Try it

  1. Open the live demo
  2. Read the wall, no account needed
  3. Create an account and leave a note
  4. Edit your own note, try editing someone else’s (it won’t let you)
